Venjix Satellite Internet is beamed through the Y1B Satellite, which is the first satellite in the region to offer Internet connectivity through Ka-band multi-spot beams, with reusable frequencies to maximize spectrum efficiency. The multi spot-beam technology means greater efficiency on the ground. Venjix Satellite Internet has appointed leading service partners who understand the unique requirements of each country, bringing fast and efficient communications to many regions where the demand for reliable Internet is growing. Due to the highly flexible system design, Yahsat’s Service Partners will bundle hardware and service packages tailor-made for specific markets and user segments, from basic Internet access for a home user to high speed service plans for the corporate user. Users will be able to instantly connect to the Internet via a small satellite dish and satellite modem anywhere within the coverage area. They will be able to access a whole world of Internet services without having to wait for terrestrial infrastructure to be developed. Even in areas of rainfall, the technology will adjust the power required to ensure the link is maintained and not lost or disrupted.

How We Work

The Venjix Satellite Internet connection delivers upstream (outgoing) and downstream (incoming) data to and from a PC or a Mac computer through a high throughput satellite. The end user computer will have high speed Internet access via an Ethernet connection to the Venjix modem. The computer may be connected to the Venjix modem directly or can be attached to a wireless hub or router to connect wirelessly. Upon subscription to the Venjix service, Venjix Service Partners process the order, install the Venjix terminal, and activate the service. The Venjix terminal includes the Venjix Satellite Receiver (either a 74 cm or a 98 cm dish along with the Transmit/Receive device) and the Venjix modem. The Venjix Satellite Receiver can be mounted on a roof, wall or via pole mount on the ground. Once connected, the end user computer sends a request to the Venjix modem, which passes the request to the Venjix satellite. The satellite receives this signal and sends it to one of the Venjix gateways. The request then goes to the Internet Backbone, which retrieves the requested web content from the web server. The whole cycle is then reversed and the requested data is sent to the end user. Depending on the location of the user and the corresponding beam, the Y1B satellite will route the subscriber’s incoming and outgoing traffic to and from the respective Venjix gateway (Abu Dhabi, Luxembourg, Madrid, or Athens).
